Description |
|
Introduction to TOGAF provides students an introduction to The Open Group
Architecture Framework (TOGAF™). The course begins with a discussion of
enterprise architecture, what it is, and the business value it brings to an
organization. Students then discuss common architecture frameworks – their
similarities and differences – including TOGAF, MDA, Zachman, and DODAF.
The course continues with an overview of the Architecture Development Method
(ADM) – the process described in TOGAF for building, managing, and evolving
an enterprise architecture. Then the TOGAF Enterprise Continuum is reviewed
including the Technical Reference Model (TRM) and Standards Information
Base (SIB). Students review key elements of the TOGAF Resource Base
including architecture governance, architecture views, and building blocks. The
course concludes with discussions on how traceability and modeling relate to
enterprise architecture. Students that complete this course as a part of the APG
TOGAF Certification Program will receive TOGAF certification from The Open
Group.
